Graveside services for William F. "Bill" Tooley, 91, of Turley, were held Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at the Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow, OK. E. Wayne Pauley officiated and Military Honors were performed by the VFW District 5 Honor Guard of Tulsa, OK. Honorary casket bearers were Jody Lee, David Wright, and Zach Smith. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
Bill was born February 3, 1919 in Jefferson City, MO to George and Maude (Reynolds) Tooley. He passed away July 2, 2010 in Owasso, OK.
He retired in 2008 from his extermination business (which he loved because of all the friendships he had made with his customers through-out the years.) He was a World War II Veteran, in the US Army, serving in Germany, France & Belgium. He enjoyed going to TU Basketball games and watching basketball and football on TV and working in his yard at home. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Turley for many years. He also enjoyed meeting and sharing life stories with everyone he met. He will be missed greatly by his family and everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Lucille of 66 years; daughters, Donna Wright and husband Lee, Patsy Tooley, Tonya Smith and husband Warren; grandchildren, Denise Barrett, Jody Lee, David Wright, Bobie Jo Smith, Zachary Smith, and Chelsea Smith, 11 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Maude Tooley; sisters, Thelma Grace Tooley, Glenna McCullough, and Dorothy Robison; and brothers, Kenneth Tooley, James Tooley, and Edgar Tooley.
