William Henry North, III

Funeral services for William Henry North III, 83, of Sperry, OK, were held Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Boston Avenue United Methodist Church in Tulsa, OK. Reverend Trina Bose North officiated, and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Justin North, Ron Green, Bill Denison, Don Conner, David Phillips, and John Dewey. Honorary Casket bearers were Jennifer Bacon, Jolene North, Alexis Bacon, Denise Metcalf, Amber Raymon and Susan Green.

Henry was born July 28, 1941, in Tulsa, OK, to William Henry North, Jr. and Emma Kathleen (Johnson) North. He passed away March 3, 2025, in Tulsa, OK.

Henry graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science in 1964 and a Master’s from Northeastern State University in 1968. He dedicated his career to education, teaching in both Oklahoma and Missouri. He married his sweetheart Patricia in 1969, and they shared 56 wonderful years together before her passing in January. His passion for gardening led him to become a Master Gardener for Tulsa County. A member of the Oklahoma Lions International Club, Henry once served as a past District Governor. He was also a proud member of the Turley IOOF lodge, where he once held the title of Grand Master. Henry found great joy in farm life—hauling hay, feeding the cows, and working the land. His faith was also an important part of his life; he became a certified lay speaker in 1958 and often stepped in to lead church services over the years.

He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Bacon and Jolene North and wife, Denise Metcalf; granddaughter, Alexis Bacon; niece, Kathy North; nephew, Justin North and wife, Trina; great-nieces and nephews; Mia North Carter North, and Nathan North; and many other relatives and friends; and former students.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia “Pat” North; parents, William Jr, and Emma North; brother, Bob North; and sister, Judy North.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
