William Rudolph "Bill" "Rudy" Ellis

Funeral services for William Rudolph “Rudy” Ellis, 83, of Tulsa, OK, were held Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Reverend Brent White officiated, and burial was in Charley Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Chris Ellis, Martin Joyner, Kyle Ellis, Phil Schoen, Jack Cedar, and Chuck Sullivan.

Bill was born March 9, 1940, in Tulsa, OK, to William Maxey Ellis and Gertrude (Wood) Audrain. He passed away February 2, 2024, in Tulsa, OK.

Bill retired from the Bureau of Indian Affairs after working for many years as an accountant. Prior to working for the BIA, he worked in the Oil and Gas Industry for a number of years. Bill was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed snow skiing, boating, camping, and traveling. Bill especially enjoyed visiting his relatives. Bill loved football and wrestling and was a huge OSU fan. He was a lover of dogs, especially Rudy, who was named after him.

He is survived by his sons, Chris Ellis of Chicago, IL, and Kyle Ellis and wife, Marianna Bustamante-Ellis of Charlotte, NC; grandson, Liam Bustamante-Ellis of Charlotte, NC; sister, Sally Vandergriff of Colorado Springs, CO; many cousins; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Ann Ellis; parents, William Ellis and Gertrude Audrain; and brother, James Maxey Ellis.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
