Willard Gary Ulrey, of Oologah was born January 28, 1950 in Claremore, OK to Willard C. and Mary A. (Vest) Ulrey. He passed away November 2, 2014 in Tulsa, OK after an extended illness.

Gary retired from Rogers County District 2 after nearly 20 years of service. He enjoyed many years of ranching and raising livestock, in addition to a hobby of woodworking. Over the years, he acquired a vast knowledge of computer systems. Gary was always very supportive of his children’s and grandchildren’s endeavors showing livestock. He could always be counted on to do whatever needed to be done and to find a creative way to fix anything. Truly the McGuyver of the Ulrey family! Gary was especially proud to be called Grandpa by Colt, 21, Cordell ,15 and Cooper, 14.Of all the things the family will miss about Gary, it is the quiet times spent together as a family will be the most missed.

He is survived by his loving wife and high school sweetheart of 46 years, Brenda (Buster) Ulrey; sons, Casey Ulrey; Dusty Ulrey and daughter-in-law Genny Ulrey; three grandsons, Colt, Cordell and Cooper Ulrey; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy (Ulrey) Hinds and Buford Hinds of Foyil; mother-in-law, Dorothy (Douglas) Buster of Oologah; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard C. and Mary Ulrey of Claremore.
