Funeral services for Wayne Arnold “Sonny” Pugh, 69, of Tulsa, were held Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Reverend Hugh Bryant officiated and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casketbearers were Gene Brumley, Mark Wallace, Tony Mitchell, James West, Shane West and Keith West.
Sonny was born June 23, 1941 in Claremore, OK to George and Bonnie (Marsh) Pugh. He passed away November 26, 2010 in Tulsa, OK.
Sonny, as most knew him, was a blacksmith for a number of years at Tulsa Forge. He then became a Master Carpenter, working for Burris Construction Company for many years. Later, he worked for David Trebilcock until he retired in 2002. He honorably served in the United States Marine Corps. He loved his family a great deal and he will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia L. “Ginger” Pugh; Rebecca “Becky” Wallace and husband Mark, Kelly W. Pugh and wife Trina, and Christine “Nicole” Mitchell and husband Tony; grandchildren, Miranda Wallace, Joshua Wallace, Karys Pugh, Landon Pugh, Isaac Mitchell, Ashley Mitchell, Jennifer Mitchell, and Matthew Mitchell; great-grandchild, Daryn Wallace; sisters, Nellie Brumley and Jane Hamilton and husband Frank; numerous nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Bonnie Pugh.
Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
