Funeral Services for Waneta Uldine (Sixkiller) Terhune, 79, of Tulsa, were held Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at the Sperry United Pentecostal Church in Sperry, OK. The Reverend Kevin Erickson officiated and burial was in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket Bearers were Steve Jones, Danny Jones, David King, Kevin Hanlin, Mike Carter, and Robert Hendrex. Honorary Casket Bearer was Nathan Jones. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
Waneta was born February 13, 1935 in Sperry, OK to Frank and Ethel Mary (Gaddy) Sixkiller. She passed away November 27, 2014 in Tulsa, OK.
Waneta returned to Sperry and graduated from Sperry High School while her son Max attended Sperry Elementary. She worked for the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier in both Owasso and Sperry for 25 years and also volunteered in the gift shop at Saint Francis Hospital for 20 years. Waneta’s favorite hobby was to go shopping. She was a member of the Sperry United Pentecostal Church.
She is survived by her son, Max Terhune and wife Pam of Tulsa; granddaughter, Lauren Terhune; sister, Frankie Kisan; nephews, Steve Jones, Nathan Jones, and Danny Jones; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Richard Turhune; and parents, Frank and Ethel Sixkiller.
