Wanda was born June 17 1933 in Mannford, OK to Homer and Beulah Omega (Marrs) Vaughn. She passed away December 23, 2010 in Tulsa, OK.
Wanda grew up in the Pentecostal church. She worked as a waitress, raising her daughters until she retired in 2006 from Family Diner on Admiral in Tulsa. She made many friends and enjoyed spending time visiting with them and drinking coffee. Wanda was friendly and loved by many. She loved to joke and enjoy life. Wanda didn’t learn to drive until her girls were in their teens, so growing up, they walked everywhere. She usually had the neighborhood house where all the girls’ friends hung out and spent many nights. Wanda would often walk all of the kids to the Rialto Theatre in downtown Tulsa; then walk them all back home. Even after she learned to drive, she was always ready to take the girls and their friends’ places. Wanda was very proud of her daughters, and each of her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She loved showing off her pictures of them. Wanda spent some time living in North Carolina with Ramona and her children, and grandchildren, but her home was always Tulsa. Wanda always had a kind heart and could always be counted on to help a friend or neighbor.
