Funeral services for Virginia Lee (Buck) Turner, of Sperry, were held Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Osage Oaks Church of God in Sperry, OK. Reverend Doyle Ginn and Reverend Charles Rowden officiated and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Dennis Cooper, Floyd Caseboldt, Rusty Rutherford, Dan Breedlove, Wesley Tennyson, and David Scott. Honorary casket bearers were Caleb Turner, Ezekiel Tennyson, Dylan Scott, Joe Hilliard, William Overbey, and Jake Tidwell.

Virginia was born August 19, 1930 in Sperry, OK to William L. and Wanda Melinda (Walker) Buck. She passed away September 12, 2011 in Sperry, OK at the age of 81.

Virginia loved many activities, and one of her favorites was doing ceramics. She owned 3 ceramic shops; Cherokee Ceramics in Tulsa and Owasso, and The Hen House in Sperry. Virginia also enjoyed reading, and listening to music. She always loved spending time with her family and the many dogs and cats that adopted her over the years. Virginia and her husband, Charlie, started Turner Body Manufacturing. She also worked for Humpty Dumpty Grocery and Sipes Grocery in her early years. Virginia was a 3rd generation mayor of Sperry and served as mayor for the town from 1994-1999.

She is survived by her husband, Charlie Turner of the home; daughters, Kathy Cooper and husband Dennis of Owasso; Melinda Caseboldt and husband Floyd of Owasso, Marea Breedlove and husband Dan of Locust Grove, Jeanien Rutherford and husband Rusty of Broken Arrow; Karelee Tennyson and husband Wesley of Foyil, and Karla Christy of Owasso; sons, Kenny Turner of Sperry; Douglas Arns and wife Kim of Pensacola, OK; Keith Turner of Glenpool, Ken Turner of Ft. Gibson, OK, and Karl Turner of Tulsa; 24 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Arns and grandson, Craig Caseboldt.
