Victoria Elizabeth "Vicki" (Comfort) Umphrey

Funeral services for Victoria Elizabeth “Vicki” (Comfort) Umphrey, 65, of Grove, OK, were held Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Jerry “Doc” Medders and Jimmy Carney officiated, and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Robert Oswald, Bobby Umphrey, Luke Freeze, Phillip George, Christopher George, Charles George, and Kelly Umphrey.

Vicki was born on January 30, 1960, in Bartlesville, OK, to Fred James Comfort, Jr. and Myrna Sue (Brooks) Holden. She passed away March 3, 2025, in Grove, OK.

Vicki dedicated her life to caring for others through her lifelong career in the medical field. As a nurse, she worked across multiple departments over the decades, touching countless lives with her skill and compassion. She also shared her knowledge and passion for nursing as an instructor at Tulsa Community College, helping to shape the next generation of caregivers. Most recently, she retired as a nurse coordinator from the Oklahoma Forensic Center in Vinita, always committed to making a difference. Beyond her career, Vicki had a deep love for animals, especially Dobermans and Chihuahuas, and took pride in raising dogs with high EPDs and championship pedigrees. She also had a passion for the outdoors, particularly fishing, - nothing made her happier than catching, cleaning, and frying up a large catfish. Vicki’s generosity, strength, and adventurous spirit made her truly one of a kind. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond Umphrey; sons, Christopher George, Charles George, and Philip George; grandchildren, Austin, Roy, Courtney, Kennedy, Aaron, and Leilani; great-grandchild, Azreal George; father, Fred Comfort, Jr.; stepdaughters, Heather Kabashi, and Kelly Joy Umphrey; 8 step grandchildren; 1 step great-grandchild; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Myrna Holden.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
