Funeral services for Trace Cade Sanford, 16, of Skiatook, were held Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Skiatook, OK. Pastor Adam Stang officiated and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Braedon Mahan, Boone Walker, Daniel Enkenfels, R.J. Brough, Chase Laymon, and Dakota Schaeffer.
Trace was born July 14, 1999 in Tulsa, OK to Jamie Roy Sanford and Jaime Lynn (Mahan) Colin. He passed away August 25, 2015.
Trace was a sophomore at Skiatook High School. He enjoyed going muddin’, and listening to music – mostly country. His passion was soccer: playing it, watching it, researching quotes, and posting about it. He lived, ate and breathed soccer. Trace strived for perfection in soccer because he wanted to play college ball so badly. Trace was a Christian. He would help Kasandra anytime she asked and NEVER complained. She doesn’t know if his parents had that luxury – but it meant a lot for her. Kasandra asked Trace to mow her grandmother’s yard once – very tall grass, and with NO hesitation he did it and even tried to deny pay for the work. He was one of the most motivated teenage boys she had ever met for his age.
He is survived by his brothers, Braedon Mahan and Baylor McDuffie; sisters, Kassie Embrey, Ciara Wilson, and Stacia Spears; aunt, Jessie Laymon; uncle, Scott Bradshaw; numerous other aunts, uncles, and cousins; father, Jamie Sanford; mother, Jaime Colin and husband David; grandpa, Eugene Oleo; grandma, Pam Oleo; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dave Sanford, Barbra Sanford, and Jimmy Mahan; and cousin, Cyle Laymon.
