Thomas L.D. "Pampa" Dedmon

Funeral Services for Thomas L.D. “Pampa” Dedmon, 76, of Skiatook, were held Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at the Sperry Christian Church in Sperry, OK. The Reverend Adam Stang officiated and burial was in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket Bearers were Mike Teel, Eddie Williams, Scott Williams, Matt Pruitt, Tyler Jones and Mike Hamon. Honorary Casket Bearers were Chasity Teel, Jaclyn Grigsby, Becky Pruitt, Amanda Wells, Lindsey Jones, April Williams and Vicky Williams. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.

L.D. was born April 8, 1937 in Hodgen, OK to Charly and Stella Mae (Nobles) Dedmon. He passed away March 8, 2014 in Tulsa, OK.

L.D. was a truck driver and mechanic, and worked at Tulsa Produce for many years. He was a former president of the Turley Round Up Club, and rode with the Turley Thrillriders precision riding team for many years. L.D. loved Nascar, rodeos, and especially wrestling. He enjoyed dancing and going to breakfast at the Brown Cow Diner. L.D. was a joy to his family, and loved his grandkids. He was a strong man and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his daughter, Debi Freeman of Tulsa; son, Larry Dedmon and wife Sheila of Sperry; sisters, Estella LedFord of Sallisaw, Laura Wofford of Tulsa, and Thelma Faye Mayo; brother, George Dedmon of Salina; grandchildren, Eddie Williams and wife Vicky of Skiatook, Scott Williams and wife April of Jenks, Chasity Teel and husband Mike of Sperry, Jaclyn Grigsby and husband Mike of Owasso, Becky Pruitt and husband Matt of Sperry, Amanda Wells of Tulsa, and Lindsey Jones and husband Tyler of Sperry; 23 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Virginia Dedmon; father, Charly Dedmon; mother, Stella Mae; brothers, John Dedmon, Lee Dedmon and Buel Dedmon; sister, Trixie Haney; and grandsons, Derrek Hansen and baby Ty Jones.
