Terry Wayne Remy

Funeral Services for Terry Wayne Remy, 64, of Tulsa, were held Friday, May 14, 2010 at the Sperry Christian Church in Sperry, OK. Brother Verne McCabe officiated and burial was in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket Bearers were Tim L. Remy, Sam Remy, Mitchell Remy, Mike Nelson, Tim "T.J." Remy, Jesse Neir, Rick Bleier, and C.T. McDonald. The vocalist was Robin Remy. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.

Terry was born March 13, 1946 in Sand Springs, OK to Joe Russell "Jack" and Bernice (Miller) Remy. He passed away May 11, 2010 in Tulsa, OK.

Terry was a philosopher and conversationalist. He was also known to be a peacekeeper, advisor and wonderful friend to many. Terry was an active conservationist and loved to spend time gardening. He was a loving family man who never saw the need for blood ties in order to be part of his family. He loved to spend time with his kids and grandkids playing games or anything else they asked him to do. Terry enjoyed golfing, NASCAR, and Formula I racing. He also enjoyed soccer and softball. Terry was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a fanatic about the outdoors and being in nature where he was very skilled with a bow, black powder, and a rifle. He also loved music. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Remy of the home; son, Terry J. Remy and wife Tammy of Claremore; daughter, Teresa Patefield and husband Farrell Phillips of Catoosa; step-daughter, Lisa Meinhardt of Overland Park, KS; close, personal friend of the family, Daniel Metzger; grandchildren, Cody Remy, Katy Remy, Kelsey Remy, Ryan Meinhardt, Kyle Meinhardt, Kaitlin Phillips, Cortney Phillips, Kyle Phillips, Ocionna Lazear, Danny Metzger, and Alex Mattingly; brothers, Leon Remy and wife Sherry of Bixby and Jack Remy and wife Marvell of Tulsa; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe "Jack" and Bernice Remy.
