Funeral services for Susie Mae Leonard, of Sperry, were held Monday, April 9, 2012 at Grace Baptist Church in Sperry, OK. Reverend Bill Field officiated and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Donald Hudson, Jr., Michael Vaughn, Andy McClain, Gerald Schwartz, Roy McClain, and Joe Ries. Honorary casket bearers were Cooper Vaughn Gilreath, Cody Hudson, Leon Giles, Lloyd Giles and Ricky Imel, II.


Susie was born March 10, 1919 in Bonanza, AR to Andrew Willie and Eva Evaline (Williams) Pigg. She left in God’s Hands on April 4, 2012 in Sperry, OK at the age of 93.


Susie worked for a laundry mat pressing clothes in Tulsa. After retiring, she baby sat and did some ironing. She attended Grace Baptist Church. Susie enjoyed reading her bible, gardening, walking, cooking and shopping.


She is survived by her son, James Richard Leonard, Sr. of Collinsville; daughters, Ann Leonard of Tulsa, and Mary Imel and husband Gerald of Sperry; brother, James Roy Pigg of Owasso; sisters, Martha Mae Belle Gross of Sand Springs, Helen Bertha Schwartz of Sperry, Kathern Louise Pigg of Sperry, and Betty Louise McClain of Sperry; grandchildren, Johney, Jamie, Jeremiah Leonard, Donald Hudson, Jr., Michael Vaughn and Ricky Imel, II; 16 great-grandchildren, Tray, Tommy, Brittney, Johney II, Courtney Gilreath, Cooper Vaughn Gilreath, Rebecca, Shelby, Stevie, Hayden Vaughn, Courtney Hudson, Cody Hudson and more in Alaska; seven great-great-grandchildren including Garrett Gilreath of Skiatook, and Tristian Vaughn of Sperry; step-grandchildren, Melissa Leonard, Debbie Downey, Ricky Imel, Vicky Ries, and Teresa Simmons; and many nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.


She was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Leonard; daughter, Betty Ruth; parents, Andrew and Eva Pigg; grandsons, Joseph Leonard, Charles H. Vaughn, Jr., and James Richard Leonard, Jr.; and sister, Myrtle L. Beller.
