Sue Williams

Funeral services for Etta Sue Williams, 68, of Broken Arrow, were held Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Reverend Jim Rowe officiated and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK.

Sue was born May 22, 1942 in Tulsa, OK to Roy Elbert Gerhard and Lucille Doris (Simpson) Childers. She passed away February 28, 2011 in Broken Arrow, OK.

Sue was one of the most caring people anyone could ever know. She always thought of other people before herself. Family was Sue’s life and no one was loved more than her husband, children, and grandchildren. One of her greatest joys was working with the special people at New Leaf in Broken Arrow. Sue had a great many friends there and she loved every one of them. She loved her flowers and had a wonderful “green thumb.” Gardening was something she inherited from her grandfather and roses were her favorite flower. We know she is sitting with God and telling Him about her family. She is looking over all of us right now.

She is survived by her husband, Leroy Williams of the home; sons, Richard Williams and wife Patti of Broken Arrow and Leonard Williams and wife Lisa of Gardner, KS; grandchildren, Cassiopia, Delynda, Thomas, Franklin, Austin, and Dustin; great-grandchildren, Zaylee, Colten, and Ty; mother, Lucille Childers of Broken Arrow; brothers, Elbert Gerhard and wife Sharon of Phoenix, AZ and Jerry Childers and wife Annette of Broken Arrow; several nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Gerhard; paternal grandparents, Oliver and Mary Gerhard; and maternal grandparents, Richard and Rosetta Simpson.
