Steven Joe Green

Funeral Services for Steven Joe “Doc” Green, 57, of Turley, were held Monday, December 29, 2014 at the Johnson Funeral Home in Sperry, OK. The Reverend David Shatwell and Pastor Tommy Smith officiated and burial was in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket Bearers were Ronnie Donaldson, Nick Green, James Summers, Travis Stevens, and Larry Bob Amos. Honorary Casket Bearers were Wilma Fournier, C.L. Harper, Tommy Weathers, John Paul Ross, Johnny Plunkett, and Jeff Merrick. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.

Steven was born July 28, 1957 in Lawton, OK to Joe Franklin and Patty Ann (Weathers) Green. He passed away December 22, 2014 in Turley, OK after a courageous, long, hard-fought battle with cancer.

Steven worked as a plumber for many years at Plumbing Service Company. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, NASCAR, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his family and friends. Steven was married to his best friend and soulmate, Lee Ann for 28 years. Together they raised their son, Nick, whom Steven loved being involved with and watching play baseball growing up. He always looked forward to spending time with his five year old grandson, Gavin, and his great-nieces, Rylie and Brynlie. Steven also loved spending time fishing with Lee Ann and his family at Aunt Wilma’s on Lake Yonkapin. Steven was as brave and as tough as they come. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Heaven just got a little brighter.

He is survived by his wife, Lee Ann (Merrick) Green of Turley; son, Nick Green and wife Lacie of Broken Arrow; grandson, Gavin Green of Broken Arrow; sisters, Christy Thomason and husband Todd of Skiatook, and Tammy Miller and fiancé Max Baker of Sperry; brother, Allen “Bo” Green and wife Terry of Tulsa; aunt, Wilma Fournier of Catoosa; niece, Ashlee Silva and husband Nathan of Skiatook; nephews, Travis Stevens of Tulsa, and Lee Brooks of Tulsa; great-nieces, Rylie Silva and Brynlie Silva of Skiatook; numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Patty Green; paternal grandparents, C.O. and Anna Green; maternal grandparents, Pearl and Lucille Weathers; cousin, Larry Weathers; and brother-in-law, Rick Mathis.
