Sharon was born September 29, 1944, in Hominy, OK, to Mary Ellen (Christley) and Sherman R. Hendricks. She passed away December 18, 2021, in Owasso, OK.

Sharon attended and graduated from Hominy High School in 1962 where she was voted cutest girl in school, to later go on to Oklahoma State University where she joined the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. Bill and Sharon met on a blind date and dated for no longer than six months before tying the knot on August 21, 1964. 57 years later, their love for one another remains unmatched. Sharon retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 2005. Many people in the community have fond memories of her serving as Postmaster in Sperry, OK.

As a dedicated wife, mother, Nana, and friend, she touched the lives of many people in our community. Her grandchildren were an important part of her life. She invested her time, energy, and attention to create enduring memories with them. Sharon enjoyed extensive Christmas planning, sleepovers, scary movies, and she especially liked taking them to the best spook house available each year. Sharon’s love of traveling and need to explore led her across the country and around the globe. She ventured to most of our country’s biggest cities, many Caribbean ports of call, and Italy. Sharon’s intense love for her family was apparent at every family gathering, birthday party, holiday, and sporting event. She knew how to connect with each person in her life in a way that was uniquely meaningful to them. She gave love at every opportunity available. Sharon made sure that when she loved on someone, they felt every bit of it.

Those who knew Sharon agree she brought the fun to any party.  She was bold, energetic, and had a way of making everyone feel important and loved.  She lit up every room she entered with her contagious laugh and welcoming smile.

She will be greatly missed by all who encountered her. Heaven got sweeter on the day Sharon left us. What a joyful day it will be when we can all be together again.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Philpott; daughter, Lisa Neece and husband, Tim; son, Shawn Philpott; grandchildren, Kaitlin Austin and husband, Matt, Hayley Bush and husband, Tyler, Emily Bruce and husband, Andrew, and Trey Neece; great-grandchildren, Jayden Austin, Hendrix Austin, Harrison Austin, Tyce Bush and Trace Bush; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Mary Hendricks.
