Funeral services for Scott Reed Penix, 56, of Ramona, OK, were held Monday, July 8, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Phil Johnson officiated, and burial was in Ramona Cemetery in Ramona, OK. Casket bearers were Sam Noble, Greg Klein, Chris Pate, Skip Mefford, Ryan Prather, and Bentley Wright. Honorary Casket bearers were Major Mefford, Rowdy Hendrix, Dallas Hendricks, Cooper Pendergrass and Bryce Casey.
Scott was born June 24, 1968, in Houston, TX, to Robert Penix and Ruth (Parris) Cloud. He passed away June 28, 2024, in Tulsa, OK.
Scott was a veteran of the United States Navy, who proudly served his country as an Aviation Structural Mechanic for 20 years. He retired from the military in 2011 and went on to obtain his commercial driver’s license and became a truck driver for several years. He had most recently worked for Spirit AeroSystems in Tulsa. When he wasn’t working, Scott could be found tinkering with old cars and spending any spare time he had working in the shop. Scott enjoyed going to various car shows, going fishing, playing the drums (which usually meant he was drumming on the steering wheel while driving down the road), and hanging out in the pool. Most of all, Scott enjoyed grilling out while spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Kelli Penix; children, Zachary Penix, and Zane Penix; step-son, Tanner Chronister and wife, Katy; granddaughter, Tayton Rae Chronister; father, Robert Penix and wife, Anna Marie; mother, Ruth Cloud and husband, Tony; brother, Brady Penix; sister, Callie Ingram and husband, Austin; step-sister, Shanda Mefford and husband, Skip; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins; mother-in-law, Judy Calvert and husband, Allen; brother-in-law, Mark Calvert and wife, Theresa; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Leroy and Willa Barnett; maternal grandparents, Reverend and Mrs. ML Parris, and Cecil Oddroff; and maternal step-grandmother, Elaine Fullbright.
Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
