Santiago "Jimmy" Rios

Funeral services for Santiago “Jimmy” Rios, 79, of Tulsa, OK, were held Friday, January 28, 2022, at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Phillip Johnson officiated, and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Honorary Casket bearers were Tracy Jones, Joe Williams, Marty Sproles, Joshua Ramos, Isaac Soto, and Luis Romero.

Jimmy, as he was known by many, was born May 1, 1942, in Milam County, TX, to Pablo and Ramona (Gomez) Rios. He passed away January 24, 2022, in Tulsa, OK.

Jimmy was a spiritual man, he loved serving the Lord and reading his bible. You best be ready to wait a while before eating, because he was known to have said the longest prayers. His wife would sometimes tell him to “Hurry up!”. Jimmy was also a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Chicago Cubs. Some of his favorite pastimes were watching his teams play. He enjoyed fishing, watching the news, and driving around in his red truck.

But most of all, Jimmy loved and adored his family, especially his wife. He loved dancing with her. He would tell her, “Come on honey, let’s boogie” as he’d be doing his dance moves, He would always light up whenever he was around her, but sadly that light went dim what he lost her, and he longed to be with her again. So today, how sweet it is to think that they are reunited and dancing in heaven.

Jimmy was truly loved, and we are all blessed to have had him in all of our lives, never to be forgotten.

He is survived by his children, Ricky Rios, Jimmy Rios, Carmen Rios, Donna Jones, Tammy Ramos, Rosa Drake, Gina Williams, Bobbie Morgan, Kay Neighbors, and a granddaughter, whom he raised, Terena Rios; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Lanell Rios; parents, Pablo and Ramona Rios; brothers, Santo Rios, Jesse Rios, and Pablo Rios, Jr.; sisters, Janie Valasquez, and Yolanda Florez,
