Funeral Services for Russell M. "Woody" Wilkinson, 88, of Turley, were held January 25, 2010 at the Community of Christ Church in Sperry, OK. Elder Roy Gaddy officiated and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were the friends of "The Round Table." Honorary casket bearers were Gary Dennis and Ed White. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.

Russell was born April 2, 1921 in Collinsville, OK to Edward Henry and Ruby Opal (Davis) Wilkinson. He passed away January 21, 2010 in Tulsa, OK.

He was proud to work as an oil and gas pipe liner. He was known as "Woody" for his wood retail business in Turley. Russell proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II where he was awarded to two Bronze Stars. He was a fervent member of the NRA. Woody was a charter member at the "round table" in Sperry where he enjoyed many cups of coffee with friends. He was a collector of fine antiques and some (mostly) junk. He was an avid fisherman and spent many years on Lake Hudson. He was one of the best storytellers and will be missed by all.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Wilkinson of the home; daughter, Paula Russela White; son, Russell M. Wilkinson, Jr.; step-daughters, Corlos Benton and Sharon Reser; granddaughters; Kathleen Taylor-Gartner, Lindsey Wilkinson, and Stacie Flood; great-granddaughter, Paisley Rae Gartner; grandsons, Wade Reser and Glen Reser; brothers, Otis Eugene Wilkinson, Daniel Thomas Wilkinson, Richard Orvell Wilkinson, Edward Dean Wilkinson; sister, Judy Darlene McCourt; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Kathleen Hill; step-son, Gary Allen Buck; parents, Edward Henry and Ruby Opal Wilkinson; and sister, Dorothy Mae Parsons.
