Ruby was born September 8, 1928 in Kansas City, KS to Norman and Mattie (Stidham) Anderson. She passed away June 16, 2012 in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 83.
As a child, Ruby picked cotton and shook peanuts with her brothers. She eventually attended and graduated from Haskell Institute in 1947 with a business school certification. She worked as a secretary for the Assistant Commissioner of the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Upon her return to Oklahoma, Ruby met and married Truman Anquoe. She then worked at a medical office, the Oklahoma Corps of Engineers, and the Federal Aviation Administration. Truman and Ruby had 4 wonderful children.
Ruby was active in Many Springs Baptist Church, Bowen Baptist Church, Glorieta Baptist Church, Central Baptist Church and most recently Indian Capital Baptist Church.
Ruby gave her life to serving others so the love of Christ could be shown. She served on various church committees and taught Sunday school, especially in Caddo County Oklahoma. Her interests included garage sales, flea markets, travelling, mission trips, viewing professional sports, OU Football, Anadarko High School sports, reading, and watching her kids/grandkids excel in athletics and academics. “Momma Rube” devoted much of her time and energy to being there for her family and helping them in any way she could.
She was an engaging, lively, fun, and happy person who lit up a room. Whenever you left her presence, you left encouraged, uplifted, & inspired. As a spiritual guide to people, Ruby took the time to pray for them and told them to rely on the Lord in life.
