Funeral services for Roy Lee Jobe, 61, of Sperry, were held Monday February 14, 2011 at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Reverend Wesley Witcher officiated and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Freddy Poper, Josh Willis, Michael Jobe, Rick Jobe, Bret Kirkendal, and Ronnie Jobe. Honorary casket bearers were LeRoy Jobe, Devin Jobe, and Tyler Jobe.
Roy was born November 18, 1949 in Denison, TX to Leroy and Lorine (Weston) Jobe. He passed away February 2, 2011 in Sperry, OK.
Roy has worked for John Crane Lemco Inc. since 1992, as a fitter welder. He loved to fish. Roy loved to play with his grandsons, and enjoyed meeting up with his son for morning coffee. He liked playing the guitar and singing gospel and country songs with his son. Roy lived in Sperry all of his life and graduated from Sperry High School in 1969.
He is survived by his son, Michael LeRoy Jobe; grandsons, Devin Lee Jobe, and Tyler Donovan Jobe; brothers, Ronnie Gene Jobe and Fredric Neal Poper; sisters, Geneva Haggan, Pat Poper and Evelyn Taylor; numerous nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda Marie (Jobe) Williams; mother, Lorine Poper; step-mother, Mary Ann Jobe; step-father, Robert Poper; and step-brother, Lesley Poper.
