Ronald Gene "Ron" Davis

Funeral services for Ronald Gene “Ron” Davis, 84, of Sperry, OK, were held Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Speak Life Meadowview (Meadowview Baptist) Church in Owasso, OK. Pastor David Payne officiated, and burial was in Fairview Cemetery in Vinita, OK. Casket bearers were Tristan Ballard, Matthew Cutsinger, Joe Morris, Bruce Kelly, Jeremiah O’Donnell, and James Collins. Honorary Casket bearers were Mike Covington, Pat Schumaker, Bob Zielazinski, and Dennis Jones.

Ron will be remembered as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great-great grandfather. He left home as a teenager and began his first job in Tulsa, OK. Because he was too young to drive a car, he delivered eyeglasses on his bicycle. Ron had many jobs throughout his lifetime and had an unwavering work ethic. He was known as an excellent painter and owned Tulsa Paint for 34 years while also running a ranch, pastoring a Baptist church, and raising his children, Paul, and Donna, in Chelsea, OK.  Ron became a Christian at 19, studied and eventually became an ordained Baptist minister. Ron ministered throughout his lifetime, even after officially retiring from full-time ministry, leading many people to Christ, and performing numerous weddings and funerals for family and friends. He loved to read his Bible. He had an eagerness to talk about his beliefs and experiences as a man of God. He helped build and support several other churches and is currently a member of Speak Life at Meadowview Church. On May 22, 2003, Ron married the love of his life, Wanda. Ron led with love and always strived to create a loving and nurturing environment for his family. When he married Wanda, he accepted her children and grandchildren as his own. Ron very much disliked the term ‘stepchild’ and embraced each son, daughter, or grandchild as his.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Wanda Jones Davis; children, Donna Morris and husband, Joe, Donna Walker, and Dennis Jones and wife, Kathy; grandchildren, Frank Caffey, Courtney Cutsinger, Matthew Cutsinger, Shane Davis, Jennifer Reid and husband, David, Laurie O’Donnell and husband, Jeremiah, Melodie Walker Ballard and Jessica Bell; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Parker, Paizlee, Jesse, Sierra, Jae, James, Isabel, Tristan, Jax, Joslynne, and Jase; great-great- grandchildren, Ryker and Riley; brother, Bill Davis and wife Debra; sisters, Emily Robertson, JoAnn De Los Santos, and Glenda Prince and husband, Roger; a host of nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Paul Davis, and Randy Joe Jones; parents, William and Norma Davis; and siblings, Stan Davis, Sharon Kay Hyde, and Carol Sue Davis.
