Ronald Lee "Ron" Butts

Funeral services for Ronald L. “Ron” Butts, of Jenks, were held Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Turley Assembly of God in Turley, OK. Reverend Charles Matlock and Reverend J.J. Jennings officiated and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Joe LeMaster, Bobby Cunningham, Vernon Butts, Steve Butts, Drake Butts, and Cameron Davis. Honorary casket bearers were Dempsey Dietrich, Harold Glover, and Don Cunningham.

Ron was born February 25, 1940 in Springfield, MO to Vernon E. and Emma R. (Frazier) Butts. He passed away September 21, 2012 in Jenks, OK at the age of 72.

Ron was a member of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices, Plumbers and Pipefitters Local No. 205, and the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local No. 592. He lived in the Turley area for many years before moving to Jenks. Ron loved watching movies, listening to music, and spending time with his family. He was very devoted to his wife Sharon before her passing on July 17, 1984. Ron was also an avid gun collector.

He is survived by his daughter, Stacey Davis of Clovis, NM; son, Ron DeWayne Butts of Tulsa; daughters-in-law, Leah Butts of Sapulpa, and Roxanne Butts of Tulsa; grandchildren, Christopher, Ryan, Cameron, Amber, Katie, Sean, Nick, Kaylee, Drake, Brock, and Brayden; six great-grandchildren; brother, Tommy Butts; aunt, Wanda of Skiatook; numerous, cousins, nieces, nephews; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Kay Butts; son, Travis Lee Butts; and parents, Vernon and Ruth Butts.
