Robert Allen Schimmel

Graveside services for Robert Allen Schimmel, 60, of Nowata, OK, were held Friday, April 4, 2008 in the Ft Gibson National Cemetery in Ft. Gibson, OK. The Reverend Lee Griffin officiated. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.

Robert was born February 14, 1948 in Downey, CA to Vernon Doc and Mildred Louise (Peltier) Schimmel. He passed away March 31, 2008 in Bartlesville, OK.

He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a licensed electrician for the Veterans Hospital. He enjoyed playing the guitar and playing chess.

He is survived by his sons, Chris Johnson, Chad Johnson, Carl Jarvis; daughters, Olivia Schimmel, Brittany Schimmel, Stephanie Jarvis; grandchildren, Megan, C.J., Corey, Bryan; sisters, Mildred A. Henry, Phyllis Treat, Janice Degraffeneid; brothers, Gerald Schimmel and Dennis Schimmel; 10 nephews; 5 nieces; and lots of great-nieces, nephews, great-great nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Schimmel; father, Vernon Schimmel; and brothers, James Leslie Schimmel and Richard Schimmel.
