Funeral services for Robert Allen “Bob” Osborn, of Glenpool, were held Saturday, June 25, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Glenpool, OK. Reverend Adam Stang officiated . Honorary casket bearers were Vance E. Osborn, Gerald D. Osborn, Travis L. Osborn, Brandon F. Osborn, Johnny Barnes, and Stoney Sloan.
Bob was born July 10, 1946 in Quitman, MO to Vancil E. and Minerva A. (Clark) Osborn. He passed away June 23, 2011 in Glenpool, OK at the age of 64.
Bob was an MP Officer in the United States Army. He worked for Sambo’s on 31st street as one of the head cooks, as a manager of a Pizza Hut in Tulsa, and as a manager and head cook for KFC in Saint Joseph, MO. Bob worked as a foreman for Ted’s Drywall for many years. He hung drywall among other things along with his wife Karen, and they eventually went on to own and operate their own business, Bob’s Drywall. He coached little league baseball and was Vance’s coach for many years. He even went to all of Vance’s games from T-Ball until Midget Level. As a coach, he always made sure the kids knew that it was all about fun, not winning all the time. He was a bus driver and custodian for Glenpool Public Schools for 15 years. He won several Bus Rodeo awards over the years. Bob was a big supporter of the Glenpool Warrior football team and the Little League Basketball program. He loved to go fishing, and hunting with Harold, Sr., Vance and Stoney. He went to every wrestling match of Vance’s and all of Allisyn’s volleyball games. He never met a stranger and everyone loved being around him. Bob was an amazing cook and cooked for all the holiday dinners. He was famous for his sweet potatoes among other things. Bob always knew how to make you laugh and he always had to have the last word. He loved each and every one of his children and there was never a day that went by that he didn’t think of them.
He is survived by
his
wife, Karen Osborn of Tulsa; children, Vance Osborn of Tulsa, Allisyn Osborn of Sperry, Rhonda Swires and husband Stephen of Vian, Gerald Osborn and wife Stacey of Marshall, MO, Travis Osborn and girlfriend, Kezia Welton of Stanberry, MO, Regina Rollett of St. Joseph, MO, Rebecca Mollett of St. Joseph, MO, Roberta Osborn of St. Joseph, MO; girlfriend, Debbie Harmon of Glenpool; special mother-in-law, Debra Mayo of Skiatook; numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vancil and Minerva Osborn; daughter, Sherry Lynn Osborn; and special father-in-law, Harold Mayo, Sr.
