Robert Cornett, Jr.

Robert Cornett, Jr., 88, of Skiatook, OK, was born September 21, 1935, in Pawhuska, OK, to Robert Stephen Cornett and Myrle Wenona (Ball) Brantley. He passed away August 10, 2024, in Bartlesville, OK.

Robert was a veteran of the United States Army and proudly served two tours of duty for his country. He was a long-time resident of Avant and worked for the Town of Avant for many years as a gas and waterline repair technician.

He is survived by his sons, Christopher Cornett and wife, Shelli, and Robert Shane Cornett and wife, Charley; grandchildren, Ethan Shane Cornett, Christopher Cale Cornett, Chester Burcher and wife, Marlena, Clayton Roberts and wife, Wendy, Mary Salyers, William Ruggles, Angela Henson, Christina Ruggles, and Haley Loudermilk and husband, Justin; 22 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Marie Cornett; son, Donald Ruggles; grandson, Timothy Ruggles; parents, Robert and Myrle Cornett; brothers, Troy Cornett, Roy Cornett, and Charley Cornett; and sisters, Maybelle Gibson and Bonnie Munday.
