Richard Nelson Teel

Memorial Services for Richard Nelson Teel, 68, of Sperry, were held Friday, March 21, 2014 at the Osage Oaks Church of God in Sperry, OK. The Reverend Jerry Harper officiated and a private family interment followed. Honorary Casket Bearers were the Country Corner Fire Department, Angelo Rodriguez, Mike Sisk, and Ron Harvey. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.

Richard was born April 3, 1945 in Sperry, OK to Joseph Brown and Cora Ellen (True) Teel. He passed away March 17, 2014 in Tulsa, OK.

Richard was an electrical contractor, while also working as a volunteer firefighter. He was the founding chief, and board member of the Country Corner Fire Department. Richard was a 4-H Leader, and baseball and softball coach. He also enjoyed bowling, playing golf, going on cruises and being at the lake. Richard especially enjoyed following his children and grandchildren to everything they did.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Teel; sons, Tim and wife Karen, and Larry and wife Margie; daughter, Debbie and husband Nick; grandchildren, Byron and wife Erika, Blake, Beau, Callie, Cody, and Cheyenne; honorary granddaughter, Whitney and husband Kevin; great-granddaughter, Kashlyn; brothers, Donald and wife Arlene, Jack and wife Molly, and Tom; sisters, Betty and husband Bill, and Janis and husband Ron; numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Cora Teel; brother, John Teel; and sister, Jo Ellen Teel.
