Richard Ortiz Sr.

Richard Ortiz, Sr. died Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at his home in Guthrie, Oklahoma. He was 52 years of age. Richard was born October 15, 1956 in Saginaw, Michigan. He was the son of Manuel and Macaria Ortiz. He had six brothers and one sister. Richard was a graduate of Saginaw High School. His skills varied, he often found jobs that peaked his current interests. He was the manager at the City of Faith Cafeteria, he was a driver for the Vendor-Direct Mail Service, and he was employed at the Guthrie Glass Factory. His hard work ethic was noted by many friends and relatives, as well as an inspiration for his family. He often noted to others that if he was not working, he was wasting an opportunity to either help his family or friends. Currently, he was holding two jobs, as a house painter, and a stockperson at Guthrie's Walmart. He is survived by his four children, Richard Ortiz, Jr. and his wife Amber, of Sperry, Oklahoma; Lesia Marie Ortiz Webb, and her husband Christopher Webb of Collinsville; Raymond Steven Ortiz of Tahlequah; and Angel Ortiz of Guthrie, along with five grand-children, Bishop Manuel, Gabriel Ethan and Braxton Cade Ortiz, and Mya Octavia Hilderbrand and Tye Don Webb; and many other relatives and friends.
