Reverend Nellie Margaret (Collins) Enkey

Funeral Services for Reverend Nellie Margaret (Collins) Enkey, 82, of Owasso, were held Friday, March 26, 2010 at the True Holiness Church in Tulsa, OK. The Reverend Wesley Gann officiated and burial was in the Box Cemetery in Blackgum, OK. Casket Bearers were Fred Blevins, Rick Holycross, II, Forrest Holycross, Roger Holycross, Bill Webster, Jeremiah Corley and Homer Beeler. Honorary Casket Bearers were Eddie Blevins, Morris Collins, Ervin Collins, Dwight Collins, and David Enkey. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.

Rev. Nellie was born March 3, 1928 in Blackgum, OK to Efton Leonard and Verda Lexie (Hawkins) Collins. She passed away March 22, 2010 in Owasso, OK.

Rev. Nellie's father was a preacher and her mother was a school teacher. She grew up during and lived through the Great Depression. She was a loving wife of 39 years to Rev. Hobert Enkey, and a loving mother to Eddie Blevins, Fred Blevins, Glenda Holycross, David Enkey, and James Enkey. Rev. Nellie enjoyed being a nurse's aide and held various other job positions. Her greatest joy in life was preaching God's word and taking care of her family. She also enjoyed sewing, playing the piano, singing in the church choir, doll-making, and being a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Rev. Hobert Enkey of the home; sons, Eddie Blevins and wife Marguerite of Owasso and Fred Blevins of Broken Arrow; daughter, Glenda Holycross and husband Rick, II of Owasso; step-son, David Enkey of Catoosa; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Wanda Risley of Blackgum, brothers, Morris Collins and wife Patricia of Gore , Ervin Collins of Blackgum, and Dwight Collins and wife Mary of Blackgum; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Efton and Verda Collins; grandparents, Tom and Lina Hawkins and Morris and Louisa Collins; brother, Voyd Collins; sister, Audrey Ritter; brothers-in-law, Lovely Ritter and Pliney Risley; step-son, James Enkey; and many other family members.
