Funeral Services for Ralph H. Gibson, 83, of Tulsa, were held Monday, November 17, 2008 at the Grace Baptist Church in Sperry, OK. The Reverend Bill Fields officiated and burial was in the Green Acres Cemetery in Skiatook, OK. Casketbearers were Neil Gibson, Shane Bay, Randy Gibson, Justin Gibson, Rocky Gibson and Derick Bay. Honorary Casketbearers were Terry Gibson, Don Gibson, David Webster, Robert Gibson, and Steve Gibson. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
Ralph was born October 25, 1925 in Redfork, OK to Harry and Hattie May (Lingenfelter) Gibson. He passed away November 14, 2008 at the age of 83 years, 19 days in Tulsa, OK.
Ralph was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War and served in the National Guard and the Reserves until retirement with the rank of Sargeant 1st Class. Ralph was a receiving clerk and a meat packer for Swift & Co. for over 30 years and had several small businesses in Sperry and Turley, OK. Ralph loved baseball and had a baseball team, the "Turley Dodgers". Ralph loved to play the harmonica in church. Ralph enjoyed fishing and trips to Colorado. Ralph had a great love for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, and 4 months, Marie; sons Terry L. Gibson, Robert W. Gibson and wife Jane of Ramona, Steven D. Gibson of Langley, Donald B. Gibson of Tulsa; and daughter Barbara A. Webster and husband David of Sperry; six grandchildren, Cindy and Kaen Bay of Sperry, Randy and Deanna Gibson of Tulsa, Michele and Joey Baldwin of Ramona, Rocky and Kristin Gibson of Catoosa, Neil and Amber Gibson of Tulsa, Lindsey Webster of Sperry. 10 great-grandchildren, Justin and Joyce Gibson, Ashley, Darian, and Cade Baldwin, Shane and Derick Bay, and Josie Marie Gibson; brothers, Raymond Gibson and wife Leadell of Tulsa, Tommy Gibson and wife Betty of Tulsa, Allen Gibson of Tulsa, Billy Gibson of Tulsa; sisters, Pearl Ralls of Tulsa, Frankie Beaston of Copan, Doris Bristol and husband Gary of Tulsa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Hattie Gibson; brothers Everett, Charlie, Oliver, Stanley, Eddie and Roy; sister, Daisey Bickle and grandson Jacob David Webster.
