Memorial services for Ralph Edward Childers, 74, of Pryor, were held Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Hugh D. Hardie officiated.

Ralph was born November 12, 1942 in Tulsa, OK to Ralph Edgar and Helen Virginia (Anderson) Childers. He passed away April 24, 2017 in Tulsa, OK.

Ralph graduated from Sand Springs High School and earned his master’s degree from OSU. He was a member and faithful attendee of First Baptist Church in Salina, OK. Ralph worked as a Vocational Agriculture Teacher at Sperry Schools. He worked for the United States Department of Agriculture as a County Supervisor, Rural Water Specialist, District Director, and Director and Chief of Farm Programs. He received many awards with Farmers Home Administration. After retiring, Ralph owned and operated Trash to Treasure Furniture Refinishing. His hobbies included fishing and refinishing antique furniture.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Childers of the home; son, Brent Lee of Pryor, OK; daughter, Gina Roselette of Pryor, OK; brother, Thomas Childers and wife Elizabeth of Sand Springs, OK; in-laws, Clyde and Debbie Harding of Sperry, OK, Robert and Stella Harding of Skiatook, OK, Vernon and Susan Kessner of Sperry, OK, and Richard and Kathy Harding of Broken Arrow, OK; many other dear aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Skinner “Big Dad” Anderson and Plummer Childers; grandmothers, Lottie “Nanny” Anderson and Mae Childers; father, Ralph Childers; mother, Helen (Anderson) Childers; brother, John Childers; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Garnett and Elsie Harding; and a very special aunt, Delia Maybee.
