Paul Jones

Funeral services for Paul Jones, of Muskogee, were held Thursday, January 24, 2013 at New Hope Baptist Church in Muskogee, OK. Reverend Steven Alexander officiated and burial was in Green Hill Cemetery in Muskogee, OK. Casket bearers were Rusty Jones, Dusty Jones, Kevin Jones, David Jones, Tracy Hoos, and Harris Jones.

Paul was born July 4, 1916 in Muskogee, OK to Arthur Watson and Ida Mae (Gardner) Jones. He passed away January 20, 2013 in Muskogee, OK at the age of 96.

Paul worked for Spartan Aeronautics in Tulsa in the 1950’s. He worked for the City of Muskogee for many years at the water treatment plant at Hyde Park before retiring. Paul enjoyed fishing, wood working, bowling, and working in his garden. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Muskogee. Paul was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his sons, Paul Allen Jones and wife Sandra of Muskogee, and Joel Ellis Jones and wife, Therese of Broken Arrow; grandchildren, Rusty and wife Rene of Muskogee, Dusty Jones of Broken Arrow, Kristi Hoos and husband Tracy of Muskogee, Kevin Jones and wife Jeni of Omaha, NE, and David Jones of Broken Arrow; great-grandchildren, Harris Jones, Hannah Jones, Evan Jones, Ryan Jones, Trey Hoos, Caydn Hoos, Gavin Ingram Jones, Madison Jones, Carson Jones, and Avery Jones; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Josephine; parents, Arthur and Ida Jones; brothers, Alvin Jones and Samuel Jones; and sister, Nora Mae Brewer.
