Graveside funeral services for Paul Edward Chambers, 89, of Barnsdall were Wednesday, January 9, 2008.
The Reverend Jack Basse officiated and burial was in the Barnsdall Cemetery at Barnsdall, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Sperry.
Honorary pallbearers were Carl Blue and Rudy Rogers.
He was born July 14, 1918 in Avant to Oklahoma and Gertie (Parker) Chambers. He passed away on January 3, 2008.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and worked as a farmer in his younger days.
He served in the Army during WWII and received the Purple Heart.
He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.
He enjoyed dogs all of his life and he liked taking pictures of all of his dogs.
He is survived by his loving friend, Reba Purcell of the home; brother, Wesley Chambers of Barnsdall; sister, Louise Lowery of Dewey; sister-in-law, Mary Chambers; nieces, Shanna Ziyada, Catherine Mary Chambers, Vickie Michele Chambers, Carrie Jean Garson, Cherie Joe Brandstetter, and two other nieces; nephews, David Linde, Perry Chambers, Johnny Colt, Clayton Chambers, Russell Brandstetter, Terry Jack Brandstetter, Jimmie Jo Chambers, and Frankie Chambers; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oklahoma and Gertie Chambers; brothers, Jimmy Chambers, Johnny Chambers and Van Chambers; and sister, Beulah Brandstetter. Family and friends can sign the guestbook at www.johnsonfhsperry.com.
