Funeral services for Patricia Ann “Pat” (Pittman) Dowling, 79, of Tulsa, OK, were held Friday, June 28, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Sperry, OK. Pastor Zach Klassen officiated, and burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, OK. Casket bearers were William E. Dowling, Jr., James E. Dowling, Sr., Charles R. Dowling, Sr., Patrick W. Dowling, Sr., Daniel L. Dowling, Sr., and Nick Dowling.
Pat was born May 10, 1940 in Tulsa, OK, to Roy Edgar, Sr., and Effie Mae (Thomas) Pittman. She passed away June 18, 2019 in Tulsa, OK.
Pat’s favorite job, as well as one of her biggest accomplishments, was taking care of her family. She raised five boys in a two-bedroom house. A bedroom for her and William, and the other for their five boys. Pat loved to cook for her family, especially when everyone was together for large family holiday dinners. She enjoyed the full-time job of feeding her five hungry boys and her husband every day. Her children grew up in a house full of love and family. After her children were grown and married with children of their own, the family grew increasingly larger. The love having everyone together and “feeding the army” remained the same for Pat. She is loved and will be missed very much.
She is survived by her sons, William Edward Dowling, Jr. and wife, Charlene, Charles Ray Dowling and wife, Helen, Daniel Lee Dowling and wife, Dottie Weeks, James Edgar Dowling and wife, Robin Renee, and Patrick Wayne Dowling and wife, Ruby; 23 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; Connie Jackson; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Dowling, Sr.; granddaughter, Brandi Christine Dowling; parents, Roy and Effie Pittman; brothers, Bob Pittman, Roy Pittman, and Bill Pittman; and sisters, Rosie Dowling, Shirley Hughes, Alice Gentry, Hazel Turk, and Mildred Pennington.
Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
