Patricia spent infancy through age three in Adair, before moving to Arizona with her parents and her mother’s family. Her mother passed away in 1941, Patricia was moved back to Oklahoma for the remainder of her life being closely raised by her Aunt Iva Davis Graves. Patricia was educated in the Mennonite Community School for most of her early formal years and later went to high school in Pryor, graduating with the class of 1957. On November 2, 1957, Patricia married Robert Vincent Wallace in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Robert and Patricia were married over sixty-one years at the time of Roberts passing. They were best friends and had a true love for one another. Patricia became a devoted and wonderful Mother to three children, Johnny (1958), James (1960) and Sherri (1967).

When Patricia’s last child started school, she decided she wanted to work. She desired a job where she had the same schedule as her children. In 1973, Patricia went to work for Tulsa Public Schools Child Nutritional Services, where she later retired in 1998, after twenty-five years. Patricia’s loved art, when Sherri was young, she spent hours teaching her new techniques to improve her art skills. Patricia enjoyed gardening, a skill she shared with her son James, she was always growing something beautiful, she had vegetable gardens and flower gardens around her house. Patricia was a skilled Southern cook and everything she made was always delicious. Patricia was known to feed large groups of family, friends and kids on any given day, you were always welcomed at their table and felt loved. So many people have described Patricia as a “Nanny to us all.” Patricia loved Jewelry, she enjoyed shopping and collecting pieces. Patricia enjoyed collecting interesting antiques, an interest she and her son, Johnny share. Patricia and Bob loved to go to yard sales, they made it their retirement hobby. After Bob passed away, Pat continued to go to yard sales and thrift stores. Her new shopping buddy naturally turned into Cissey Jo McCrary, and she was so good to take Patricia any chance they were able to go shopping. Patricia loved animals, she was always rescuing and protecting the rights of animals. Her children never knew of a time they did not have a pet in their house, in fact there were many dogs running around their childhood home. Her sweet little dog Bella was by her side when Patricia passed away, they were devoted to each other. The area of her life she focused on the most was her beautiful granddaughters and great-granddaughters; they were her truest joy. Each of these girls were her treasured gems. Their house was the fun place to meet up with cousins and play. Nanny and Pa Pa were always helping them color Easter Eggs, giving endless four-wheeler rides, sleepovers, playing with them, swinging them, rocking them on the front porch, never missing a birthday party and so much more. In Patricia’s last days her granddaughter, Rachell stayed with her night and day until she left us. Each of her granddaughters did their sweetest part in comforting and being present until she was gone.

She is survived by her sons, Johnny Vincent Wallace and wife, Jamie Jo of Skiatook, and James Robert Wallace of Skiatook; daughter, Sherri Lea (Wallace) Fernandez and husband, Fernando, of Claremore; grandchildren, Rachell (Wallace) Auten and husband, Tandy Ryan, Giemar Fernandez, Giselle (Fernandez) Braswell and husband Antonio, Victoria Fernandez, and Katie Fernandez; great-grandchildren, Madison Auten, Journee Auten, Arielle Braswell, and Anadelle Braswell; aunt, Martha (Fulks) Anderson, of Goodyear, AZ; brother-in-law, George T. Shell of Tulsa; numerous nieces and nephews; longtime special and closest neighbors, Jim and Maria Cox, and their children, Rachel and Matthew; and many other relatives and friends.

The family would also like to thank Maria for her help and love for Patricia by spending countless hours caring for her. Also, thank you to Cissey McCrary for all she has done over the years to help and love Pat. She grew up as a friend of the family and was there in her last moments. Your Mondays and Tuesdays with Pat will never be forgotten, she loved you.

Continued prayers as we face our days without our mother will be needed. Her quick wit and keen sense of humor was indeed a strength. We will miss all of her funny antics, crossed up words, wise-cracks, and humor. We love you Mother, and you will never be forgotten.
