Funeral Services for Olvie Winston Washington, 63, of Sperry, were held Tuesday January 20, 2009 at the Johnson Funeral Chapel, in Sperry, OK. The Reverend Charles Rowden officiated and burial was in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
Olvie was born February 25, 1946 in Sperry, OK to Jo Ax and Agnes (Tiblow) Washington. He passed away January 15, 2009 in Tulsa, OK.
He was a graduate of Sequoyah High School in Tahlequah. Olive was inducted in the US Army and served in Vietnam. He lived in Tulsa and worked for a Janitorial Service until his father passed away in 1983. He then moved to Sperry to live under the care of his mother, Agnes Tiblow Washington for more than 16 years. Olvie had many hobbies including fishing, hunting, photography, and collecting guns. Olvie struggled with diabetes for many years and became a long time resident of Skiatook Nursing Home up until his passing.
He is survived by his; sisters, Karen W. Braswell, Eleanor Washington, Lucille Vaughn, Lunice Williams, Walter Washington, David Washington; brothers, Walter Washington, and David Washington; and many other nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jo Ax and Agnes (Tiblow) Washington; brothers, Johnny Lee Washington, Joe Jr. Washington, Billy Gene Washington, and Etta Lou W. Tucker.
