Norman Leroy Gibson

Norman Leroy Gibson, 72, of Bartlesville, OK was born July 16, 1950, in Bismarck, MO, to Norman James Gibson and Mildred Ellen (Hall) Gibson. He passed away February 2, 2023, in Bartlesville, OK.

Norman worked for Duron Die Products in Tulsa until they closed in 1982. He then worked doing several odd jobs here and there. Norman loved music, whether it was playing music or singing. He enjoyed music by George Jones, Merle Haggard, and a few others, but he especially favored Elvis Presley. Norman liked the older country music style. After having a stroke, Norman, looked to the Lord, became a Christian man, and started preaching the word at Heritage Villa Nursing and Rehab in Bartlesville where he became a resident following his stroke. He preached every Sunday and was proud to preach sermons. Norman donated to several charities, such as the SPCA, and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Norman had many friends at the nursing home and will be missed by all who loved and cared for him.

He is survived by his daughter, Misty Trobiano; sisters, Ivy Childers, Bonnie Lockett, and Sheila Gibson; brother, Calvin Gibson; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Mildred Gibson; sisters, Glenda Ennis, Mary Wilson, Nancy Lloyd and Tammy Gibson; and brothers,  Raymond Gibson, Jesse Gibson and Vernon Gibson.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
