Funeral services for Norma Edwina (Rapson) Farmer, 94, of Owasso, OK, were held Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Sperry, OK. Apostle Roger Tracy and Bishop Elbert Rogers officiated, and burial was in Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, OK. Casket bearers were Jared Rogers, Justin Rogers, Michael O’Brien, Cory Alberty, Tom Elmore and Billy Black. Honorary Casket bearers were Gerald Rapson, Elbert Rogers, Greg Anders, Holden Rogers, Weston Alberty and Tommy Elmore.
Norma was born October 15, 1926 in Detroit, MI, to Carl Henry Rapson and Ella Rose Marie Cecile (Poirier) Rapson-Schneider. She passed away November 21, 2020 in Tulsa, OK.
Norma’s main profession was as a cake decorator, making wedding cakes for family and friends from home, later professionally at bakeries in the Tulsa and Owasso area. While raising three children Norma ran the office of the family business, Saveway TV. She was a gifted artist who loved pencil sketches, knitting, crocheting, sewing, ceramics and working on various other projects.
Norma was active in church for many years at Harvard Avenue Baptist Church in Tulsa. She sang in the church choir and was a cook for the youth camps. In the last few years of her life, Norma was member of the Remnant Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints in Sperry.
She is survived by her daughters, Coral Rogers and husband, Elbert, and Jade Anders and husband, Greg; daughter-in-law, Hara Farmer of Greece; grandchildren, Jared Rogers and wife, Lacey, Justin Rogers, and Christina Alberty and husband, Cory, and Michael O’Brien; great-grandchildren, Holden Rogers, Weston Alberty, Anderson Rogers and Charlie Alberty; brother, Gerald Rapson; sister, Carol Lofton; sister-in-law, Phyllis Rapton; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Farmer; son, Chuck Farmer; grandchildren, Elton Rogers and Erin Rogers, brothers, Bob Rapson, Neil Rapson, and Bud Rapson, sister, Roxy Foulkes; and parents, Carl Rapson and Ella Rapson-Schneider.
Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
