Nora Celeste (Neel) Coates

Memorial services for Nora Celeste “Nonna” Coates, 67, of Skiatook, OK, were held Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Justin Teague officiated. Honorary Casket bearers were Mason Teague, Cayde Teague, Thomas Montgomery, Michael Montgomery, Justin Teague, Ryan Warwick, Eric Drenner, and Marc Sellers.

Nora was born November 1, 1955, in Tulsa, OK, to Chester Wade Neel and Billie Elsie (Sinclair) Holm. She passed away December 26, 2022, in Tulsa, OK.

Nora was an HR Insurance Benefits Coordinator for Tulsa Public Schools for many years. She enjoyed sewing and various crafting projects, as well as listening to music and spending time with her family and friends. Nora was a woman of faith, a devoted wife, and loving mother. She married her high school sweetheart Ricky, and they just recently celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary.

She is survived by her husband, Rick Coates; daughters, Amanda Teague, and Whitney Coates; grandchildren, Mason Teague, Cayde Teague, Tyler Warwick and Anniston Sellers; sisters, Alice Ramseur and husband, Allan, and Marion Kerr; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Chester Neel; mother, Billie Holm; nephew, Benjamin Montgomery; and mother-in-law, Dona Coates.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
