Funeral Services for Milford Guy Ward, Jr., 87, of Claremore, were held Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. The Reverend Dianna Izquierdo officiated and burial was in the Osage Gardens Cemetery in Skiatook, OK. Casket Bearers were Eric Cunningham, Matt Walter, Chris Jeanes, Joey Ward, Robert Hoppis, and Jacob Hoppis. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.

Guy was born January 15, 1926 in Skiatook, OK to Milford Guy, Sr. and Ethel Mamie (Jones) Ward. He passed away December 31, 2013 in Claremore, OK.

Guy served in the United States Army during World War II in Rhineland, Germany from 1944 to 1946 and earned several awards for his service. He was a vice president for several banking firms, a district manager for life insurance companies and financial institutions, and worked at Byers Chevrolet in Skiatook. Guy also briefly owned and operated his own mobile home business as a part time venture. He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of the Tulsa Ancient Free and Accepted Masons Masonic Lodge # 71, Past Worthy Patron of the Oklahoma Order of the Eastern Star Tuloma Chapter # 400 in 1959, and Past President of the Tulsa Lenders Association in 1960. Guy was also a member of the Sunset Country Club of Bartlesville since 1973, and a member and Deacon of the First Christian Church in Skiatook. He had an interest in all sports, including playing golf and basketball. Guy coached baseball and basketball at the 5th and 6th grade levels. He occasionally sang solos at church and was a director of the Skiatook Amateur Theatre.

He is survived by his children, Dan Ward and wife Gerri of Memphis, TN, Teresa Walter and husband Scott of Flower Mound, TX, and Connie Coffey and husband Russ; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; great-great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Bolen; niece, Shirley Clem of Barnsdall; and numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Milford Sr. and Ethel Ward; and sister, Marie Hope.
