Michelle Dawn (Hale) Standlee

Funeral services for Michelle Dawn (Hale) Standlee, 52, of Collinsville, OK, were held Friday, July 21, 2023, at Community of Christ Church in Sperry, OK. Elder Charles Rowden, Elder Connie Bias and Phil Johnson officiated, and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Sam Cooper, James Miller, Jesse James, Travis Horn, Max Moore, Greg Johns, Ricky Bledsaw, Miles Dickson, and Buck Standlee. Honorary Casket bearers were Dalton Standlee, Gus Oliver, and Carl D. Chism.

Michelle was born June 11, 1971, in Tulsa, OK, to Jackie Newton Hale and Joyce Mae (Horner) Spencer. She went to be with her heavenly father on July 17, 2023, in Tulsa, OK after a long struggle with cancer.

Michelle lived her entire life around the Sperry and Skiatook area. She attended Sperry Schools until high school, then attended Skiatook High School where she graduated. Michelle loved her family, and her boys, Buck and Dalton, were her life. She also adored her beloved pets, Peanut, Daisy, Maggie and Crissy. She loved gardening, caring for her flowers and succulents, shopping, going out to eat, watching various comedies and traveling. Michelle had an outgoing personality and a smile for everyone. She could talk a mile a minute if someone would listen. Even at her hardest moments, Michelle still carried that beautiful smile and contagious  laugh. When we found out she had cancer, we cried together but then she stood up and said “I got this, Satan has a big fight on his hands. I’m not giving up on this fight!” She was so courageous and strong, and never complained even when the pain was so unbearable.  She will always be our hero and biggest fan. Monday afternoon, heaven gained a beautiful and God loving angel. She had a strong faith and a beautiful relationship with her heavenly father. Towards the end of her life, Michelle would always say, “I’ve got this, I know where I’m going to be with my heavenly father.” and would give you a big smile. Her life may be over here on earth, but I can tell you, that Heaven is rejoicing to have gained this sweet, beautiful soul. 

Thank you, God, for giving Michelle to us. She made each of our lives better. Just to have had such a beautiful, courageous, strong, and loving person in our lives made everything worthwhile. We love you, Michelle Dawn!

She is survived by her husband, R.D. Standlee; sons, Buck Standlee, and Dalton Standlee; granddaughter, Malibu Grace; mother, Joyce Spencer; sisters, Teresa Wheeler and husband, Lonnie, of Mannford, Colleen Bennett and husband, Phillip, of Tulsa, and Ronda White and husband, Steven of Skiatook; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her dad and stepmom, Jackie and Shirley Hale; stepdad, Joe Rooker; her maternal and paternal grandparents; and her beloved dog, Peanut.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
