Michael Steven Mink

Michael Steven Mink was born September 18, 1950 in Covington, KY to Vernon Clayton Mink and Kathleen (Trammel) Bass. He passed away November 2, 2016 in Claremore, OK.

Michael worked for Frank W Murphy, and Helicomb International in Tulsa and Centrilift in Claremore. He loved his family most of all. Michael was the best PaPa to his three grandsons. He loved his guns and getting to teach the younger generations how to use them and safety was the key. On the weekends, you could always find him doing yard work and enjoying some beers. Michael loved his classic rock and roll and was a master on the air guitar. He could make a joke out of anything. Making people laugh was his specialty – you couldn’t be around him without smiling and laughing.  Mike was proud of the family he was able to keep around and together for over 30 years with Erma. He would always say his greatest accomplishment was not running her off. Although, if you ask his family, his first love was his 2006 black Nissan Frontier Nissimo Truck. If Michael wasn’t in the yard, in the garage on the air guitar, or relaxing in his recliner, then he was outside washing and polishing that truck of his.

He is survived by his wife, Erma Mink of Claremore; daughter, Angela Phillips and husband Matt of Oologah; grandchildren, Dominic Phillips of Oologah, Kayne Phillips, and Ryker Phillips; sisters, Connie Daley of OH, Verna Furnish of OH, Gail Hoffman of OH; numerous nieces and nephews, and sisters and brothers-in-law; daughter, Heather (Mink) Schibik of OH; and grandchildren Erikka, of Chicago, IL and Alex of KY.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen Bass; father, Vernon Mink; step-father, Jake Bass; and brother, Jerry Mink.
