Funeral Services for Max Lee King, Sr., 78, of Tulsa, were held Monday, December 9, 2013 at the Sperry United Pentecostal Church in Sperry, OK. The Reverend Kevin Erickson officiated and burial was in the Osage Gardens Cemetery in Skiatook, OK. Casket Bearers were Fred Ford, Kodi Dodd, Steven Ford, Dustin Dodd, Travis King, and Max King, III. Honorary Casket Bearers were Tyler Jackson, Dustin King, Kyle Duncan, and Nolan King. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.

Max was born March 1, 1935 in Collinsville, OK to Enoch Walton and Bertha Mae (McDonald) King. He passed away December 4, 2013 in Tulsa, OK.

Max worked as a roofer for many years. He enjoyed fishing, working on mowers and cars, deer and coon hunting, searching for various things with a metal detector, and going to the flea markets. Max especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Max King, Jr. of Sperry, Walt King of Skiatook, Gene King of Tulsa, Larry King of Tulsa, Trish “Sis” (King) Ford of Hominy, and Matthew Langley of Tulsa; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; brother, Harold King of Colorado Springs, CO; sister, Dorothy “Dottie” Neff; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace King; son, Quincy King; grandson, Eugene King, Jr.; parents, Enoch and Bertha King; grandparents, Charlie and Mary King; brothers, John King, Bill King, and Bobby King; and sisters, Marie Massey, Alice Equalls, Deanne Jackson, Wanda Conn, and Geraldine Burt.
