Matthew Isaiah Pruitt

Funeral services for Matthew Isaiah “Matt” Pruitt, 36, of Sperry, were held Friday, October 7, 2016 at Sperry Christian Church in Sperry, OK. Pastor Adam Stang officiated and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Mike Teel, Mirl Kellogg, Tyler Jones, John Tuggle, Michael Hammon, Eugene Preslar, Randy Betancourt and Martin Avalos. Honorary casket bearers were Brooklyn Ann Pruitt, Josie Marie Pruitt, Jennifer Betancourt, Chasity Teel, and Lindsey Jones.

Matt was born July 16, 1980 in Bristow, OK to Charles Wayne Pruitt and Jennifer Lynn (Vanwhy) Jones. He passed away October 4, 2016 in Sperry, OK.

Matt was a truck driver for Miller Trucking in Haskell. He was a member of the Sperry 4H and FFA parent clubs. Matt enjoyed hunting, fishing, rodeos, and spending time with his wife and girls.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Lynn “Becky” Pruitt; children, Brooklyn Ann Pruitt, 13 and Josie Marie Pruitt, 11; father, Chuck Pruitt and wife Debi; mother, Jennifer Jones and husband Wayne; sister, Jennifer Betancourt and husband Randy; brothers, Joel Baber, Josh Baber and Michael John Hammon; grandma, Yarbera Ann Krick: father-in-law, Larry Dedmon and wife Sheila; mother-in-law, Karon Roberts and husband Jerry: sisters-in-law, Chasity Teel and husband Mike, Lindsey Jones and husband Tyler, and KJ Shook; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews (whom he loved dearly), and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alta and Charley “Pops” Pruitt, and Glen Vanwhy; grandpa, L.D.; great-grandma Sutton; and nephews, Derrek Hansen and Baby Ty Jones.
