Mary Katherine Mongold

Funeral services for Mary Katherine (Chambers) Mongold, 71, of Sperry, were held Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Pastor Adam Stang officiated and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Mike Williamson, Marvin Woodson, Ricky Juby, Ryley Mongold, J.B. Smith and Taran Woodson. Honorary casket bearers were Jim Reese, James Wilkes, Bill Moss, Jason Wilkes and Danny Mongold.

Mary was born February 17, 1944 in Lawton, OK to Floyd and Lorraine (Rinn) Chambers. She passed away January 27, 2016 in Sperry, OK.

Mary was a Special Education Paraprofessional for Tulsa Public Schools for many years. She loved knitting, crocheting, sewing, reading and various other crafts. Mary knitted many afghans and numerous sets of baby booties and hats. She also enjoyed making banana pudding from scratch for the grandkids. Mary enjoyed baking and making noodles from scratch as well and baked many pies, cakes and breads for her family and friends. Mary loved her dog Sassy, and also enjoyed helping take care of the miniature horse, rabbit, and her hummingbirds.

She is survived by her daughter, Angie Woodson and husband Marvin of Sperry; son, Bryan Mongold and wife Jami of Tulsa; grandchildren, Miranda Woodson and Taran Woodson of Sperry, Ryley, Kaeleb, Aiden, and Gabriel Mongold of Tulsa; sisters, Carolyn Thompson and husband Donald of MO and Marrette Smith of TX; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Lorraine Chambers; and husband, Willard Mongold.
