Funeral Services for Mary Sue (Fortney) Jones, 75, of Pawhuska, were held Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at the Osage Indian Baptist Church in Pawhuska, OK. The Reverend Scott Conley and Reverend David Boyer officiated and burial was in the Pawhuska City Cemetery in Pawhuska, OK. Casket Bearers were Micheal McGuire, Stephen Jones, DJ Wadsworth, Matthew Jones Kenneth Standish, Jared Jones, Holden Blankinship, Jeff Jones, Hayden Blankinship, Jared Thrasher, and Paul Flanagan. Honorary Casket Bearer was Lane Stone. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.

Mary was born September 25, 1938 in Pawhuska, OK to James Otis, Sr. and Jeanette Irene (Smith) Fortney. She passed away November 9, 2013 in Oklahoma City, OK.

Mary retired from Heinkel's quick stop. She also worked at Jerry's, Pawhuska Nursing Home, a sewing factory and carpet mill. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, working on puzzles with her sister, and sewing for everyone. She especially loved taking trips to the beach in Port Aransas, Texas, where she collected seashells and fed the seagulls. Mary was an avid collector many things. She was a faithful member of Osage Indian Baptist Church. Mary loved her family with all of her heart, and would have done anything for any of them. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children, Steve Jones of Ponca City, Teri Blankinship and husband Jack , Randall Jones and wife Dolores, and Pam McGee and husband Kenneth, all of Pawhuska; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; four sisters and 3 brothers; hundreds of nieces and nephews; and several dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer Fulton Jones; sons, Fulton Ray Jones and Michael Wayne Jones; parents, James and Jeanette Fortney; five sisters and three brothers; and her very dear friend, Bonnie Pierce.
