Funeral services for Mary Todd Jobe, 84, of Sperry, were Wednesday, March 12 in the Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Sperry.
Elder Steve VanMeter, Elder C.H. Whiteman, Elder Roger Tracy and Elder Donnie Carter officiated.
Burial was in the Rest Haven Cemetery at Sperry, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Sperry.
Pallbearers were Damon Jobe, William Jobe, Matthew Jobe, Lee Prince, John Sexton and Jim Crank.
She was born Nov. 9, 1923 in Bruno, Ark., to George and Bertha (Smyth) Slagle.
She passed away on March 9, 2008.After graduating in 1941, she moved to Tulsa to live with her sisters, where she found employment with Douglas Aircraft and then Bell Telephone.
While visiting family in Sperry, she met and eventually married Preston Jobe.
She was a longtime resident of Sperry.
She and her husband were always active in the Sperry community. They supported scouting, the school and many youth activities. Church life and the youth were always important, even many years after their sons had graduated from school.
She and her husband had been married almost 60 years.
She is survived by her husband, Preston Jobe of the home; sons, David Jobe and wife Linda of Sperry, Robert and wife Patti of Delaware, and Buel Jobe of Sperry; grandchildren, Angelia Jobe of Owasso, Damon Jobe of Owasso, William Jobe of Delaware, and Matthew Jobe of Delaware; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
