Mary Faye Hale

Mary Faye Martin Hale, 94, passed away peacefully on February 2nd, 2021 in Owasso, OK. She was beloved by her family and will be greatly missed.

Mary was born on March 20, 1926, to Samuel Fred and Ollie Mae Martin in Oak Grove, OK. She married minister Johnie Eli Hale and raised her three children, Mary, Brenda, and Ernie. She helped Johnie establish Freewill Baptist churches in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and California. Besides being a homemaker and minister's wife, she worked in various Christian schools and volunteered in churches until 90 years of age. She devoted many years of her life serving God and people, always with a gentle spirit and sweet smile. She enjoyed vegetable gardening, cooking, canning, and fishing with her husband, Johnie. She also loved to play cards and games with her family and many friends.

She is survived by her two daughters, Mary Ann Washburn of Fort Worth, TX and Brenda Walton (sp. Bill Walton) of Owasso, OK, as well as nine grandchildren, Stacey Anderson, Lesley Greiner, Chris Hale, Dana Fowler, Craig Hale, Jason Hale, Jennifer Reed, Rayetta Wilson, and John Walton. She is also survived by 23 great-grandchildren, and twelve great-great-grandchildren, and various nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Johnie Hale, son, Ernie Hale, brother Palmer, sisters Lorene, Alaska, Nilene, Mattie, Anna Mae, and Betty, and great-granddaughter, Treba Hale.
