Funeral services for Mary W. “Jane” (Carter) Gragg, 80, of Owasso, were held Thursday, April 28, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Sperry, OK. Reverend Andy Anquoe officiated and burial was in Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville, OK. Honorary casket bearers were Monty Carter, Joe Gragg, Carter Duvall, Michael Quinton, Russ Harper, Tom Jenkins, Little Tommy Jenkins, Mark Carter, and Don Jenkins.
Mary was born September 9, 1930 in Webbers Falls, OK to Wilber Monty and Hallie Margaret (Reed) Carter. She passed away April 24, 2011 in Owasso, OK.
Mary was a member of Sperry Baptist Church. She was a seamstress for Grigsby Draperies with Pat DeLozier. She worked as a Coder with Workers’ Comp cases for Mid-Continent Casualty Insurance Company, and a housekeeper for the Turley Children’s Home in the Tiny Tots House. Mary also worked in California during World War II harvesting raisins.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Herbert A. Gragg; daughters, Kathey A. Gragg and Sue A. Gragg; grandchildren, Joseph A. Gragg, and Nissa Svanter, and daughter, Kayla Svanter; brother, Bud Carter of CA; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilber and Hallie Carter; sisters, Dale Duvall and Lola Jenkins; and brother, Fran Carter.
