Funeral services for Mary Maxine (Wood) Branham, 88, of Tulsa, were held Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Sperry Christian Church in Sperry, OK. Reverend Adam Stang officiated and burial was in Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow, OK. Casket bearers were Chanze Branham, Jacob Collier, Nicholas Branham, David McBroom, Robert Johnson, and Wyatt Branham. Honorary casket bearers were Rick Branham, David McBroom II, and Alan Branham.
Mary was born January 20, 1926 in Tulsa, OK to Charley C. and Bessie Susan (Nevel) Wood. She passed away January 9, 2015 in Owasso, OK.
Mary worked as a nurse aid and as a security guard, and was a homemaker. She wrote poems, and was always going through boxes as it was said that it gave her something to do.
She is survived by her children, JoAnna McBroom of Turley, Jean Smith of Van Buren, AR, Sue Silkey of Tulsa, Terry Branham of Skiatook, and Tracy Branham of Skiatook; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Dewey Wood of Tulsa, and Eugene “Ace” Wood of Tulsa; sister, Arlene Snell of Tulsa; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Branham; parents, Charley and Bessie Wood; and brothers, Cleo “Sonny” Wood, and Walter Antone Wood.
